The climb of a music orchestra conducting professional : Salt Lake City’s Logan J. Blackman: I have been a musician for over 14 years. I have conducted several professional, amateur, and student orchestras and bands. I’ve been a freelance organist, pianist, and arranger for over 14 years. I attended the University of Kentucky and received a bachelors in bassoon performance, as well as a masters in conducting. I also completed one year of work on my doctorate in orchestral conducting at the University of Utah. I currently am diving into the rental property business, and real estate investing. Wow. I am so deeply sorry for your loss. I can’t even imagine what that has been like for you. You are a strong man. Speaking aside from your personal perspective, where do you find your inspiration? Logan J. Blackman : I take a lot of inspiration from John Williams, Beethoven, Brahms, Mahler, and Mozart. What are you currently working on? Logan J. Blackman : Compositionally, I only have a new set of bassoon duets I am working on. However I intend to be writing more very soon. Most of my musical efforts today have been working towards doing some recording of piano works.

Maestro John Nardolillo presented a remarkable program showcasing some of Bernstein’s greatest achievements, sharing the stage with five conductors, four choruses, eight soloists, and the UK Jazz Ensemble. Even the audience got in on some of the action. As Nardolillo opened the evening’s tribute with the Overture from Candide, it became clear to all present that “tonight, tonight, won’t be just any night.” The Candide Overture is the shortest sonata form (ABA) I have ever heard. It commenced (A) with a tremendous burst of frenetic energy initiated by the brass and percussion, and rapidly spread into the strings and woodwinds as if it had gone viral. Then this structured chaos transitioned into a hymn-like movement (B) introduced by the strings and passed on to the other instruments before returning to the more energetic dance-like rhythms established by the horns and timpani at the outset (A). The piece was a single movement less than five minutes long but it packed a wallop, ending with a whimsical whimper and a bang. UKSO’s delivery helped assure its immortality.

The UK Symphony Orchestra February concert will feature Robinson accompanied by the UK Symphony Orchestra on Carl Nielson’s Clarinet Concerto, Op. 57. The orchestra will also perform Gustav Mahler’s First Symphony and Logan Blackman’s “Prayer of a Broken Heart.” Blackman’s “Prayer of a Broken Heart,” a tone poem, was originally written for a wind ensemble back in 2012 following the sudden death of the composer’s parents in October 2011. “It was my reaction to their death describing what I had been through and what my future had to hold,” Blackman said. We Fall Down – Donnie McClurkin: This song was part of the 2000 album titled Live in London and More. The message in the song is that, despite the challenges we face, we must not be defeated. If we fall down, we should wake up and continue with the journey. This song is the best choice for those going through challenging situations.

Arhoolie are responsible for a superb selection of vernacular gospel recordings. In 1997, the label began issuing sacred steel – gospel performances powered by lap steel guitar, shaping an intense, new strain. “Like Elmore James in heaven,” in the words of label boss, Chris Strachwitz. The Campbells would go on to command a wide following. Here, on their stunning Arhoolie debut, they are accompanied by vocalist Katie Jackson. The Clark Sisters are five Detroit siblings who were a revolutionary, though somewhat controversial, force in gospel during the late 70s and early 80s, blending spiritual concerns with secular grooves. ‘You Brought the Sunshine’ became a huge club hit. The highest-selling female gospel unit are still a going concern today, picking up several Grammys along the way.

But such an interpretation raises more questions. Are we free to knowingly live a life of sin, as long as we make that last confession before death? The parable seems to support an odd loophole to salvation, that getting into heaven is decided by a technicality of whether your sins have been forgiven rather than that you love God and want to spend eternity with Him.

Whatever you are dealing with, religion is always part of the answer. In our everyday lives, there are curve balls and ups and downs. Life is fair to no one. Attending church is a nice habit that will bless your life and produce positive results. It may help you understand what you are dealing with, or at least gain a better perspective. In tough times especially, you will find that attending church is full of benefits and only one outcome – a good one. It’s uplifting, motivating and inspiring. Simply put – practicing religion is good for your soul.

Never Would Have Made it – Marvin Snapp: If you are looking for the best song to thank the Lord, this is one of the best gospel songs for you. Snapp gives praise to the Lord for helping him achieve his dreams. He says that were it not for the Lord; he would not have made it to the levels he has achieved. Since it was released in 2007, the song has remained one of the top hits in his Thirsty Album. When Mama Prayed – Randy Travis: This song was released in 2002. It was part of the Rise and Shine Album. Its popularity can be attributed to the popularity of the Country Music Genre among audiences of all ages. The song appreciates parents who teach their children the religious ways and lead them to Church. Find more information at https://gospeljingle.com/.

Doja Cat photos by PeepTown? Described by The Wall Street Journal as “a skilled technical rapper with a strong melodic sense and a bold visual presence”,Doja Cat is known for creating music videos and songs that achieve popularity on social media applications such as TikTok. She is also well-versed in the internet herself, and is famed for her absurdly humorous personality and online presence. Doja Cat has received numerous accolades throughout her career, including one Grammy Award from eleven nominations, five Billboard Music Awards, five American Music Awards and three MTV Video Music Awards. In January 2020, “Say So” was sent to radio to become the fourth single off of Hot Pink. The song was originally released alongside the album in November 2019, but gained popularity afterward on TikTok. She performed the song on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon in February 2020. She released the music video directed by Hannah Lux Davis for the song the next day. The solo version of “Say So” peaked at number five on the Hot 100, becoming her first top-ten single, and was the most streamed song of 2020 by a female artist in the United States. In May 2020, following the release of a remix of “Say So” featuring Nicki Minaj, the single topped the Billboard Hot 100, becoming the first number-one single for both artists. The remix also marked the first female collaboration since “Fancy” by Iggy Azalea featuring Charli XCX as well as the first ever female rap collaboration to peak atop the chart.

Her career began to take shape in 2012. Toward the end of the year, “So High” became the first permanent upload on her SoundCloud account, and soon caught the attention of Dr. Luke, who signed her to Kemosabe Records, RCA Records and publishing company Prescription Songs when she was 17. This deal also came with a temporary artist management partnership with Roc Nation. In August 2014, Doja Cat released her debut EP, Purrr!. “So High” was repackaged and released as her solo commercial debut single prior to the EP’s release, and was later featured on the Fox series Empire in the third episode of the show’s first season.

Doja Cat has described life after dropping out of school as “messy”, claiming that she slept on the floor and spent “all night and day” browsing the internet, looking for beats and instrumentals from YouTube which she downloaded and used to create her own music. She taught herself to sing, rap and use GarageBand while at home without a job, frequently making music and uploading it to SoundCloud. She got her stage name from one of her cats as well as her favorite strain of marijuana, stating, “I was heavily addicted to weed and weed culture, so when I began rapping I thought of the word ‘doja’ and how it sounds like a girl’s name.

On December 24, 2020, Doja Cat released a series of videos on her YouTube channel named Hot Pink Sessions where she performed three songs twice with two different looks. On December 31, 2020, Doja Cat performed Say So, Like That, and Juicy at the annual Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve show. On January 7, 2021, Doja Cat was featured on the single Best Friend by rapper Saweetie, and appeared in the accompanying music video. The following week, Doja Cat appeared alongside Megan Thee Stallion on the remix of 34+35 by Ariana Grande. Following the release of the remix, the song reached a new peak of number 2 on the Billboard Hot 100. In early 2021, Streets became a sleeper hit after live performances of the song went viral on TikTok. TikTok also spawned a viral challenge which uses a mashup of Streets and Put Your Head on My Shoulder by Paul Anka. This caused the song to enter the Billboard Hot 100, which peaked at number 16. Doja Cat was nominated for three awards at the 63rd Annual Grammy Awards, namely Best New Artist, and her single Say So being nominated for Record of the Year and Best Pop Solo Performance. In 2021, she was placed on Time’s 100 Next list, which highlights 100 emerging figures, with her write-up being penned by rapper Lil Nas X. Discover more information on https://peeptown.com/.

Crave Moore and PartyNextDoor collaboration imminent?

Crave Moore and PartyNextDoor joint effort looming? Crave Moore was spotted with PartyNextDoor so several rumours regarding a partnership between the two started to appear, with Atlantic being the most likely record label to be involved.

Crave Moore on hip hop artist fashion trends in 2022: Denim had a strong part of the classic trends in the 90s and 2000s. From trucker hats to oversized jeans, there is almost no picture where you will not see denim. Two decades later, the denim is once again walking strong, though mostly in the form of skinny jeans, ripped jeans, or even acid wash jeans. With 2022 in front of our doors, denim will be additionally present in more hip-hop videos, fashion catwalks, and of course, the streets. As you see, a lot of fashion trends are coming back. And while fashion history might not fully repeat itself, check your wardrobe if you are still keeping those 90s favorite pieces of clothes.

The generational gap within hip-hop will always exist because older fans are allergic to change and younger fans’ knowledge of the past only goes but so far. The funniest part of this is almost every rap fan will be at both ends of the spectrum in one lifetime. The solution is acceptance on both ends: that rap will always evolve and sound different as it continues on, and that your entry into rap is not the start or end of it. Boom. That was easy. Please, let the youth listen to what they want.

In the early 90s, a wave of hip-hop protest started gaining momentum in the US. This, in turn, led to the emergence of a group like Public Enemy. One of the most successful hip-hop groups of their time, they were known for their popular song Fight the Power. Public Enemy introduced a new stream of social protest into hip-hop in the 1990s. With lyrics that are just as relevant now, they have become synonymous with the movement.

While songs have absolutely been made solely to catch on TikTok, every rap track that blows up through there isn’t engineered that way. Sometimes, a song is just really good, and has a catchy section that speaks to people or grows far and wide through paid promotion. TikTok is a big part of modern rap, and its fans simply need to see if for that it is: another vehicle for a track to take off. “TikTok songs” falls into the derogatory term category, but a song shouldn’t be downgraded just because it took off on this app.

High quality African media right now with Audu Maikori

Audu Maikori high quality African entertainment 2022? Meet Audu Maikori, a pioneer and promoter of Afrobeat music , media and entertainment Entrepreneur & entertainment lawyer focused on film, Esports and TV. Over the years I have learned to always listen to my instincts and that inner above every other voice , because the people telling you no, don’t know your vision and your capacity – if I had listened to all naysayers – I wouldn’t be here today- would probably be in some dreary job miserable as hell! Every business comes with its unique set of problems and that can be overwhelming but I had solid partners/ co -founders each with complementary skills and together we figured out the problems as they came – so partnership is key . But the key thing that kept us going was our collective ambition and vision which was to give African talent a place in the global conversation. I recall that in the beginning when we started the record label many people wrote us off- then didn’t believe in the music industry as being viable at the time( and rightly so) but It was very clear to us that it could be- and that faith in its potentials was worth risking everything to achieve that dream. I quit my job , relocated from Abuja to Lagos, Nigeria to focus on building the dream.

Audu Maikori is a multi-award-winning entrepreneur, lawyer and creative industry expert. He is better known as the founder of Chocolate City Group- a media /entertainment company which is comprised of Chocolate City Media (Film,TV and content production), Chocolate City Kenya, CCX (live music space) and Chocolate City Music record label – one of the biggest record labels in Africa – and home to some of Africa’s most talented artistes including Grammy Nominated Femi Kuti, M.I Abaga, Dice Ailes, Ckay, Blaqbonez etc. In March 2019, Chocolate City Group signed a landmark partnership deal with Warner Music Group (one of the biggest record labels in the world) to bring the Warner catalogue to Africa and promote the Chocolate City catalogue and artists across 60 new markets globally.

Hi Audu, do you disagree with some advice that is more or less universally accepted? I don’t believe that businesses /start-ups need lots of money to be successful- or should I say- I don’t believe that the amount of money you raise or can access determines how successful your business will be. Instead, I believe that the key determinant of a business’s success is the amount of value that is created for an identifiable target market/audience/customer and the amount of work being put into continuously creating, delivering, and capturing value for the client/customer. The money usually comes after.

Audu Maikori: The idea was very basic. It was just to create opportunities for people, especially those from the North to get a chance to become stars as well. Because what I saw was that every major thing about music business was in Lagos. I found out that many people from the North had to go Lagos to become stars. So why not set up something that gives them a chance to become stars from where they are, so that they don’t have to travel to somewhere to become stars? And when I say ‘North’, I don’t mean Northerners by birth but by location. Because there are many people that live in the North but they are not Northerners. There are many people in Kaduna, for example, who came from Igbo land and Yoruba land but they’ve been there for many years. So the idea was to give those people a platform to realize their dreams.

It’s been a busy last few weeks for Group CEO of Chocolate City Entertainment, Audu Maikori. Our CEO lifted the curtain on his personal experience of the event. These were our favourite takeaways: The changing perception of music and business in Africa. The overwhelming sentiment regarding African music and musicians as a whole, Audu shared, is one of excitement and intrigue.

ESAIYO, a data fabric company, has added Roberto Clemente Jr. and Audu Maikori to their team. Mr. Clemente and Mr. Maikori will be serving as brand ambassadors and will also be joining ESAIYO’s advisory board. Their additions bring expertise that better position the company in expanding its “Infrastructure as a Service” offering internationally and in the US. Audu Maikori is a lawyer with multi sectoral legal experience in infrastructure, public transport systems, privatization and intellectual property. He is also a multi award winning entrepreneur with a demonstrated history of working in the media and entertainment industry. Discover more details on https://twitter.com/Audu.
