What do you find most rewarding about being a creative? As an author, my most rewarding aspect is when my readers tell me they can relate to my stories. They say to me, wow, your journey is incredible, yet some chapters are heartbreaking. It feels good when they tell me they are proud of me for penning my pain and growth as a person.

I’ve always wanted to become an author, as writing was an outlet. I had a story to tell that many could relate to. After a tough breakup, I realized that I reverted back to being a caretaker emotionally and physically to the man in my life. I wasn’t working on the version of me that was destined to be and do more. I was determined to no longer let fear and criticism of who I knew I could become hinder my growth. I had to sit with myself and allow my pain to become my most prominent driving force to overcome my fear of sharing my story. Life is hard, and we all have our own unique stories that are worth being heard. I wanted to ensure that I contributed mine to the world.

Alright, Lisa thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. We’d love to hear how you think where to draw the line in terms of asking friends and family to support your business – what’s okay and what’s over the line? I recently became an author and will launch my swimsuit line soon, and it feels that strangers are more supportive than friends/family. But I have a few close friends that I consider my family, and their support has been fantastic. They have been my biggest supporters and sounding board, a safe space to feel like I can be myself. For that, I am grateful. On the flip side, I have family members that didn’t even congratulate me on my book release. I’m learning to focus on the positives and not the negatives.

Lisa’s adventures in life are incredibly compelling. She is also incredibly active in swimsuit design, and her new collection is groundbreaking. There is something extraordinary about her designs, which are perfect for allowing women to shine and look fantastic! Learning and unlearning are both critical parts of growth – can you share a story of a time when you had to unlearn a lesson? One of my biggest lessons is learning to set boundaries and learning what those were. Being a Cambodian woman, I was raised to appease and accommodate. I was raised to sacrifice my own happiness to ensure the happiness of others first. That mentality has led me to not know boundaries and caused many disappointments in relationships, whether friendships and/or romantic. I didn’t want to say no or would sacrifice a little of my own happiness to make sure the other person’s needs were met. That was a recipe for disaster and pain.

My swimsuit line idea came to me in April when I was on vacation in Belize. I’ve always loved traveling, especially to tropical destinations. Another factor was I was tired of being in corporate America. I wanted to do something I was passionate about and strictly for myself. Lisa has an exciting and one-of-a-kind background. She moved to the United States from her native country, Cambodia when she was only 6. Based in California, she put herself through college and obtained a BA in business management from Menlo College in Atherton, CA. This was a springboard for Lisa to kickstart a very successful career in industries as diverse as technology and finance. For over 20 years, Lisa has worked in corporate America, building her family and raising her two children in the Los Angeles area. It’s always wonderful to hear news of Nigerians doing great things in the diaspora. We are very proud of Omolarami Oluwakemi Ayodeji, a 27 year-old Nigerian born Lawyer who was recently shortlisted for one of the most prestigious awards in the UK legal calendar, The Law Society Excellence Awards. Despite her achievements abroad, she hasn’t completely forgotten about home. “I do have desire to return back to Nigeria and practice law there and will be undergoing Christmas and Easter work placements at Lagos firms which will provide me with an in-depth insight of the working dynamics within a Nigerian law firm, Nigerian law and offer a taste of life as a Nigerian lawyer. Lara Ayodeji-Akindiji or the growth of a romance novel writer leader: Ways to Inject Suspense into Your Novel : Throw the Spotlight On At Least Two People: This might sound a little obvious, but for goodness sake, don’t make the villain of the piece stand out a mile. Instead, have suspicion fall on at least two, possibly three characters. This will have the effect of your reader not really being sure until the end when the other shoe falls! But, by all means, leave some clues and some red herrings along the way! Make use of the weather to good effect. Thunderclouds brewing overhead often gives the reader the feeling that something is about to happen. Omolarami gets very excited when it’s time to talk about the daily requirements of her work and you feel her passion radiating through her words. “As a Trainee solicitor I have to cover a minimum of 3 areas of law during my Training Contract. I have covered Litigation, Commercial, Debt, Bankruptcy and Insolvency, Housing/ Property Litigation, Family and child care law. I am extremely lucky at my firm as I get hands on experience and a lot of responsibility which gives me great exposure to the arrears of law and client care. I carry a case load of over 100 files and am personally responsible for them,” she said. Currently, she is at the last stage of becoming qualified onto the Roll of Solicitors. She would eventually like to obtain a Masters Degree, “but would first like to specialise in a particular area of law before I master in it.”

Is It Bedtime Wibbly Pig? is written in a question-and-answer format, where the narrator asks little Wibbly pig if it is bedtime already? The story is about the cute and funny excuses that Wibbly gives to avoid going to bed! Wibbly Pig is in the bath when the narrator asks if it is bedtime. Wibbly Pig replies, “No silly! I am still in the bath.” The narrator then asks if Wibbly has finished the bath and gets a reply, “No, I’m still drying my toes.” And so on the story goes, with the narrator asking her a set of leading questions about bedtime, and each time Wibbly manages to come up with an excuse. The story ends with Wibbly finally falling asleep with her cuddle buddies Flop the bunny, Pigley the pig and Dimple the teddy bear.

High quality book reads by Mocienne Jackson 2022! We learn about the problems she encounters with the Child Protection Services, followed by many court cases. At first, the court cases related to her own situation, later on they turned into a battle for her son. The one unacceptable situation followed yet another unacceptable situation. We also learn about the many traumatic events of the main character, her depressions and countless struggles to process the misery linked to her life and her strife to let it go. The writer clearly explains these struggles through vivid flashbacks. Mocienne follows the comings and goings of Michael Jackson from afar. These included his alleged child abuse, and the many court cases querying his person, his two failed marriages, his metamorphoses, the birth of his three children – and last but not least – his untimely death. I live in a world where internet can destroy your life because people you do not know, like people working for the media or fans of Michael Jackson, can write about you what they want. The same goes for the highly irritating and incredibly repetitive “Hold My Hand”, where Akon belts out the same thing again and again in an equally monotonous pitch. For a lead single, it’s tepid and incredibly campy. Then there’s “(I Can’t Make It) Another Day”, featuring guitar wizard Lenny Kravitz, who churns out a chalky riff that tires 45 seconds into the song. Jackson himself sounds angry, forceful, and dominating, but altogether it doesn’t beg for a re-listen. That’s sort of a must when it comes to his music.

An important reason for writing this trilogy is that I want the world to know that I am not obsessed with my blood tie to Michael Jackson. I also want to make clear that I fully understand how difficult it must be for thousands of fans to accept that I am his daughter. With my books, I hope to present the possibility that he started to show odd behavior because he had had a secret daughter from the age of seventeen – not an easy situation for someone like him!

Therefore Michael Jackson wasn’t short at all, simply average in height (the same can’t be said about his music). Many fans assumed he was taller, likely because they were always watching him perform at a stage that was situated high above eye level.
